CAR HighLIGHT : AN OLD ESCORT FROM THE FUTURE

A good portion of the Gymkhana Grid car line up was cars we've already seen. More than 50% of them were Formula D cars, the others from Time Attack and Rally Cross. The standout car was Ken Block's 1978 Ford Escort RS Mark II which was being driven by Vaughn Gittin Jr for the weekend.
Ken drove a historic spec Escort Mark II at a Colin McRae stage, in 2008, and instantly fell in love with it. So in February 2009, he got one.

The car was converted from RHD to LHD and spec'd up to Ken's wishing before it was shipped to America from the UK

CAR Highlight 7-SERIES ON AIR

At the SEMA show, you see lots of brand new customized vehicles, and lots of heavily modified classics from the '50s, '60s, and '70s.
What you don't see are a lot of cars from the 1990's and early 2000's. That's a big part of the reason I was drawn to this E38 BMW 7-Series.

Since it also fits into our Haulers and Sedans theme, I thought it was worth a quick spotlight.

CAR Highlight , R34 FRONTED STAGEA

CAR Highlight ,  R34 FRONTED STAGEA

The R34 GT-R front is probably one of the most iconic car faces of our generation. It's no wonder it's been grafted onto a host of varying makes and models but one of the best executions was always onto the Nissan Stagea.

CAR Highlight, 9FF GTURBO 1200

The other 9ff car I found at the My Car Show was this GTurbo 1200. As the name suggest it has 1200BHP making it one of the most powerful Porsches in the world. The car competes in the 0-300-0 km/h challenge organized by Sport Auto and Dunlop. This year 9ff competed with a GTurbo 1000 but for next year they have this new version, the GTurbo 1200.

CAR Highlight, YOSHIDA YUICHI'S SB CORPORATION S15

Out of the 3 cars I chose to spotlight at Nikko Circuit last week, this S15 was by far my favourite.
