New Car Style, New Police Car from Ford

  New Police Car from Ford

Ford is known for being a master of law-enforcement vehicles and this week it has presented a new version of Police Interceptor sedan. In a few months the manufacturer will also show the second model that is already prepared.
The Police Interceptor is going to be offered to the law-enforcers in the end of 2011 when the production of Ford Crown Victoria, the current cop car, will end. One of the new interesting features of the sedan will be “anti-stab plates” built into the front seatbacks. They are meant to protect the front-seat occupants from assaults. The front seats are also redesigned to provide more comfort for the policemen who have to wear belts with holsters.
The Police Interceptor will be offered with two types of engines: a 3.5-liter V6 which outputs 263 horsepower and 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with an all-wheel-drive which has 365 hp. Both of them come with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The presentation of the second model is scheduled for the third quarter of 2010. Ford says that it is going to be a “utility vehicle that will be pursuit-rated to complement the sedan”.
