EVENT: MOTOR 4 TOYS PT.1

It was a gray, wet weekend here in Southern California, but that didn't stop thousands of car enthusiasts from gathering at the Warner Center in Woodland Hills yesterday for the annual Motor 4 Toys event. The great thing about Motor 4 Toys is that it not only gives people a chance to enjoy cars, it also gives them a chance to help out the community.

There are no rules or entry fees for the event. It's simply asked that participants bring new, unwrapped toys that will be given to less fortunate children this Christmas. Tons of cool cars and a way to do something good for others? Awesome.

After parking my Mustang and dropping a couple toys into the huge pile, I took a walk around to see the machinery. The turnout was incredible - imagine a typical Cars & Coffee or Supercar Sunday event, but on a MUCH larger scale.

There was literally something for everyone. One of the first cars that caught my eye was this immaculate 240Z, complete with period correct four-spoke mags.

The lot where the event was held was massive, meaning there was plenty of room for different car clubs to park together. Here's a group of Porsche 356 owners getting very into the holiday spirit.

The MINI owners were out in force as well.

Even the Jeep guys came out to support the cause.

There were some interesting cars in this group of late model Mazdas.

Including this nicely done Protege sedan. This has got to be the coolest example of this body style I've ever seen.

From this hole in the hood Dodge Charger street machine...

...to this BBS'd Honda Fit. You didn't have to go far to find a cool automobile.

How about this group of P71 Crown Victoria Police Interceptors? Very cool, but also slightly intimidating.

This BMW 2002 was another one of my favorites of the day. Can't beat the blue, purple, and red.

Haulers and Sedans month may be over, but we still love wagons!

Pickup trucks too! This mild custom Ford looked spot-on.

This Audi TT looks more like car you'd see in one of Jeroen's posts from Europe. Not so much a car you'd see here in LA.

Ford GT, still one of the best looking production cars ever built.

Perhaps some of you guys might be more interested in this super clean AE86 Levin though.

Why, hello there Mr. Dream Car.

I'll have more to come from the Motor 4 Toys event, but right now I need to get to work assembling nominees for the 2010 Speedhunters Awards.
Back soon!
