Ford Focus will be seen in the US market from early 2011 as a 2012 model. The aerodynamic focus will have a new 2 liter 4 cylinder engine and will get 40 mpg on the highway. The Ford Focus price is expected to be competitive with the Honda Civic.
The Audi R8 Spyder is one car, that has been hitting the headlines. The company unveiled the convertible version of the R8 sports car in Frankfurt in September. The four wheel Audi Spyder is like a cross between the sleek Audi TT Roadser and Formula 1 racer car. The Audi R8 coupe has a 525-hp V-10 engine and takes only 3.7 seconds to touch 60mph. It will get 20 mpg on the highway and will be available in the showrooms from July 2010. The car will cost $155,000.
The Honda CR-Z will be Honda Motor's sports hybrid 2011. The two seater hatchback, will be seen on the roads late this summer. The Honda CR-Z has an electric motor with 122hp, a 1.5 liter cylinder engine and will get 31 mpg in the city. The car will get 37 mpg on the highways with manual transmission. However with a variable automatic transmission, it will get 36mpg in city and 38 on the highways.
Lastly, the Nissan Leaf debuted last summer in Japan. It can run 100 miles before the battery runs down. It begins the new era of electric cars and will be available in the end of 2010 for $30,000.
