EVENT, BUTTONWILLOW SUPER LAP, PT.2

There's nothing like spending a Wednesday watching some of the fastest time attack cars in the United States battle it out for bragging rights.
With this photo of the Evasive Motorsports Evo blasting through the Buttonwillow Esses, let's move on to our second look at the 2010 Super Lap Battle finale.

The GST Impreza rolls into the paddock following its final track session of the day. That front aero setup is nuts!

DC2 Integra Type R doing exactly what the Honda engineers built it to do.

An Evo X digs into the Bus Stop corner after getting hard on the brakes.

As usual Tarzan Yamada was a busy man. He also handled driving duties for this C-West/Advan JZA80 Supra.

Another JZA80 running in the Limited FR class. Can't be the sound of a worked 2JZ with the go pedal mashed.

Speaking of pedal mashing, it seemed like the driver of the UMS Evo was a madman. And I mean that in the most flattering way possible.

Sportcar Motion's EK9 Civic Type R resting in the paddock.

Another view of the AMS GTR rocking out in full street trim.

Yep, Buttonwillow can be one hell of a lonely place.

As you can rather obviously see, Hasport has added a F-wing to their EG Civic.

JC Meynet getting it done behind the wheel of the AW Motorsports Impreza. That's quite a tall wing you have there...

Couldn't resist taking a pic of this M5 on Advans that was sitting in the pits.

An S2000 rounding Buttonwillow in all of its high RPM VTEC glory. It doesn't get any more natural than that.

The car may have left production a while back, but the love for the S2000 shows no signs of slowing.

Hondas in general are still huge among circuit freaks in the USA, and I think that's a great thing. Front-drive, rear-drive, hybrid - it's all good.

There's Peter from Modified Magazine out having some fun in the DC2 Integra.

Team Sierra Sierra patiently awaits their next track session, already holding onto the track record.

The Dodge SRT4 is a car that can't be overlooked when it comes to time attack. Lots of potential for not a lot of money.

That will do it for part two. Stay tuned for part three as I wrap up my trilogy of Super Lap Coverage.
